Hi. You've marked and placed unreferenced template at Special:Diff/1027559689. I've noted the copied template on the talk page. Does it still be considered unreferenced and citations must be added? -- DaxServer (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi -- DaxServer. Unfortunately it does need to be referenced. Films that have their own article, such as Ladies Tailor, don't need to be referenced, effectively their article is the reference. Films that don't have an article do. Alternatively, if you can find a list of all his films from a reliable source you can use that to reference the whole list. The IMDb and similar sites aren't considered as being reliable sources. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 20:54, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, John B123. WP:FILMOGRAPHY says "
This [Reference column] is an optional field for sourcing that can to be used when a work may be obscure or difficult to confirm.
" So we need sources for, say, uncredited roles or lost films where credit needs to be verified. Eg. Mondi Mogudu Penki Pellam does not have an article, however, the film is publicly available and the Tanikella Bharani's credit is verifiable (first in the row). This is because the film itself acts as a source regardless of whether en-wiki has its article or not. -- Ab207 (talk) 07:02, 10 June 2021 (UTC)- @Ab207 So, I understand that this movie can be skipped for refs and only those that are really difficult to find needs sourcing. Is that right, or do we also ref this movie with the YouTube source as well? I'm a bit confused. -- DaxServer (talk) 07:07, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- DaxServer, Yes, the film itself acts as a reference when it's available. We may cite youtube as a source but that's just too much work without substantial benefit. -- Ab207 (talk) 07:14, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Ab207:
This [Reference column] is an optional field for sourcing that can to be used when a work may be obscure or difficult to confirm.
refers to referencing films individually with the table, it doesn't mean you don't need to reference filmographies full stop. As per WP:VERIFYAll material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists and captions, must be verifiable
. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 07:26, 10 June 2021 (UTC)- John B123, my point was specifically about "referencing films individually in the table," that a film acts as a source whether or not it has an article. If you are referring to the sources about the subject themselves, like the no. of films they appeared, awards they won, and critical commentary about their work; that needs to be done, which is not the matter of our disagreement I think. Best -- Ab207 (talk) 09:50, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Ab207: Are you saying a filmography doesn't need any references? Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:37, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- Not exactly. My argument is that individual film entries which do not have an article, also needn't be cited like those with an article (because the film itself is a source for credits, albeit primary). Though, the filmography article as a whole needs referencing about the actor themselves and their work. I hope I'm making sense. -- Ab207 (talk) 15:57, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Ab207: I don't agree that where a film doesn't have an article then it doesn't need a reference. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:09, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

- Hello, John B123. WP:FILMOGRAPHY says "
: Let me put it this way. Even if the film has an article, the plot and credited cast are uncited because their source is the film, not the Wikipedia article. Excerpts from MOS:FILM:
- "Provided the film is publicly available, citing the film explicitly in the plot summary's section is not necessary, since the film is the primary source and the infobox provides details about the film."
- "When listing uncredited roles, a citation should be provided in accordance with Wikipedia's verifiability policy."
The film may be cited as a reference using {AV media} but that's just superfluous. -- Ab207 (talk) 16:31, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- In an article about a film there will be a link to a page about the film somewhere on the page, which can be used to verify the plot and cast although those sections don't have a specific reference to that page. Where there is no page then there is no link to verify information. Regards --John B123 (talk) 17:17, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- I see your point, nevertheless, let's agree to disagree. There's a related discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers#Citations in the filmography table which might be of our interest but it looks inconclusive.
- As I leave, let me appreciate your work as a new page reviewer. I personally think it's one of the most arduous non-administrative tasks on this project. Cheers! -- Ab207 (talk) 17:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, NPP can be very trying at times! Thanks for the link, as you say, it's not really conclusive. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 17:38, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

How does Wikipedia react to social media publishing?
Hi John, while sitting on new Wikipedia articles struggling with references, the question came to me: what if fewer and fewer articles were published by newspapers because people might not read newspapers... Social media platforms publish news about exactly that what matters, not newspapers... that is, I think, especially in Thailand. Is there anything I could study or can you offer advice? Regards Meow2021 (talk) 07:08, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021. Whilst the circulation of newspapers has dropped, and possibly be phased out eventually, the online versions are still there. Some publications have already gone online only. In addition, other news sources such as tv and radio news programmes now have online versions so there's probably more sources available now than say 10 years ago. The problem with social media is that anybody can post anything they want. For example you could post that you are Thailand's greatest Wikipedian, but without other evidence we couldn't accept that as being the case. Social media is generally regarded as WP:SELFPUBLISH and therefore not a reliable source. However, it can be used in certain circumstances, see WP:SOCIALMEDIA. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 08:51, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- : Hi John B123. Got your point. It wasn't just social media, but also blocks and online magazines... Very little news in Thailand if you want to find information about an event or building etc. But the entire story is listed with detailed information on blocks, social media and online magazines, etc. I think there is a huge movement in media information... digging. Some interesting articles could only be written in two sentences as there really is no Wikipedia reliable reference... but in the real world it's there and popular. That's why I got stuck at the moment. Thank you for the info. Soon I will have something to review. Regards Meow2021 (talk) 11:55, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, online magazines are generally ok provided they are written by journalists rather than user submitted content for promotion. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 12:13, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I keep that in mind John B123. Thailand has many cultural stories, some are truly worthy, but not all on Wikipedia... I own books in Thai and English, no links to the content on the internet, magazines with no online presence...Government info perhaps on pdf... A lot is online on blogs, information from books or magazines... but I can't take a picture of it and post a picture :) Hard to find, even a bookstore or library. I think there has been a lot going on forums here in recent years. Do people even care...? Searching... Like to write more about people and events here. I really appreciate your guidance and care. Regards Meow2021 (talk) 12:40, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, whilst online sources are preferred, it's ok to reference to books that aren't online, see WP:OFFLINE. As a minimum you need to give author, title, year, page number and if applicable edition. If possible publisher and ISBN number should also be added. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 13:42, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi John nice to meet you.
I created an article a month ago or maybe more and I received a notification which says something like: "Improvements suggested to the page" along with a message at the top of the article but I don't get what does it means or needs.
The article is this: River Plate v Independiente Santa Fe (2021 Copa Libertadores) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Angel Millo (talk • contribs) 01:50, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Angel Millo, the issues seem to have been resolved now so I've removed the tag. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 06:58, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Review
Hello
After creating an article I often (always?) get a notice saying that the article has been reviewed by someone. Lately by you. I'm not sure what this actually means.
Regards,
Jokkmokks-Goran (talk) 11:43, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Jokkmokks-Goran, all new pages are checked to make sure they meet the minimum standards for inclusion in Wikipedia. (Notable subject, referenced, no copyright issues etc etc) When they have been checked they are marked as reviewed. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:35, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Hi John B123. You have reviewed the article Bund Aur Samudar. While the subject is very notable, the article contains machine translation from its Hindi version on Hindi Wikipedia. Can you please draftify it? So the editor can improve the translation. Thanks, and you are doing a great job. --Gazal world (talk) 19:31, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Gazal world, whilst machine translations are discouraged, the article doesn't read too badly, certainly the English is better than a lot of articles written by editors who's first language isn't English. WP:DRAFTIFY has certain conditions that need to be met for draftification, none of which are met here. (unless there are factual errors in the translation?). I've tagged it with {{rough translation}}. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 19:59, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. No problem. I will try to improve the translation. --Gazal world (talk) 20:13, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Bus routes
Hi John, thanks for your work in reviewing my articles. I noticed you tagged a couple of bus route articles with the notability tag. For example with. 23 Stirling-St Andrews, what are you looking for to satisfy notability? I thought the level of sourcing was quite good already. Also, what are the rules surrounding turning an article into a redirect, is another editor permitted to then replace the article with a redirect, without going through the proper deletions process? Thanks again NemesisAT (talk) 22:10, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi NemesisAT, there are no specific notability guidelines for bus routes, but a sort of "case law" has been built up at Afd and is documented at WP:BUSOUTCOMES. Bus routes need to have some sort of notability beyond the fact they exist.
- Per WP:ATD-R, a page may be directed instead of going through a deletion process, but if anybody objects they can revert the change. Regards --John B123 (talk) 22:40, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am hopeful however that I can make bus route articles that pass the WP:GNG. I do think bus routes are underrepresented on Wikipedia, especially compared to railways. Thanks again for your help. NemesisAT (talk) 22:53, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Modussiccandi. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Bow Street Police Museum, and have marked it as unreviewed. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

Please take a look at this
Hi John, I was sick for a couple of days and now that I'm back I found this... Mod Dam 1199 R Can you advise how to right this? And another Cellular beam don't understand this either?? Regards Meow2021 (talk) 17:49, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, do you any connection at at with Mario Kleff or any of the organisations connected with Cellular beam? I need to know before trying to resolve this. regards. --John B123 (talk) 18:23, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- No, John, I have no connection to Mario Kleff or cellular beam organizations. I live in Pattaya and through research into architecture and construction, when I started writing the first articles, I came across custom bikes and also cellular beams, all of which were made by Mario Kleff. I found that interesting and looked into it. Perhaps I did write this wrong? But then I don't know how to do better... I mean when someone designed, invented or created something why not using the name? Thanks for advising on this Meow2021 (talk) 18:34, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, all sorted. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 18:44, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't see any changes. I do not understand? Can you explain to me why anyone did it in the first place? Thanks John Meow2021 (talk) 18:52, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, I've reverted the articles back to how they were before the tags were added/moved to draft. I've no idea why it was done in the first place. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 18:59, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you John. I will study more. All these little changes to almost every article I've made are strange to me ... like the name of a temple that suddenly doesn't become a temple but is a temple... or the Buddha mountain or the king who doesn't relate with the Temple is in reality the actual patronage and second most important person, etc. It seems... I don't know what to really say. I hope I don't border you with my questions Meow2021 (talk) 19:15, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, no problem, happy to help out. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 19:19, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi John B123, this afternoon there was a forward and backward Mod Dam 1199 R and again. I improved the article. Maybe that's enough. Please take a look and advise what can be done next. Meow2021 (talk) 13:49, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, I can't see it being deleted at AfD. Although having your article sent to AfD isn't nice, it's probably the best thing as once it's been kept then that's the end of it. I'd add your keep !vote at the AfD. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:07, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi John B123, a few hours ago the editor who posted the Mod Dam article for deletion placed a delete tag on The Riviera Group, the page you rated ok / good, meets all Wikipedia guidelines. The page had more than adequate and reliable links and was not written in an advertising style, and there were few articles linked from the main server. In a moment the page with the entire history was gone?! No rating, no comment or even a chance to act ???
In addition, the image of the Mod Dam 1199 R page suddenly disappeared! How is this possible and within the guidelines? Can further actions of this kind be expected? Please advice on this. Thank you Meow2021 (talk) 13:44, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, I see The Riviera Group has now been deleted, but you can ask for it to be restored per WP:REFUND. The image on Mod Dam 1199 R had been tagged with copyvio which was why it was removed. However, the copyvio now seems to have been resolved and the tag removed. I have added another image to the article. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:37, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

- Thank you John, found it. I'm new to Wikipedia and I'm still curious what it's about... one would expect friendly interaction. Such actions feel very disrespectful, even more unreasonable. How is it possible to delete articles in a jiffy? What next... I appreciate kindness Meow2021 (talk) 16:33, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, there are some people on WP that aren't very friendly. Some seem to be on a power trip and take certain actions just because they can. There are lots of nice people on here too but unfortunately most interactions aren't with them because they never rock the boat. It helps to develop a thick skin and ignore as far as possible those aren't so nice. I know that's easier said than done. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:42, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- Tried to restore the article with a kind request. I don't understand. Don't even know this company or related people, just try to make a contribution. How is this article promotional, for whom and why from me? Would like to see it rewritten with the same information to understand what went wrong? See, that would be helpful for a new Wikipedia editor. Thank you anyway, regards Meow2021 (talk) 17:18, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Meow2021, my apologies, I gave you wrong information about WP:REFUND, which can't be used for WP:G11 deletions. I review so many articles that I don't remember this one, but looking back here it seems there were previously some concerns over the article. I would suggest you have a word with the deleting admin, JBW, and ask them if they can restore the article so you can work on it. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 17:41, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Veracity of statements by Boris Johnson
Hello John B123, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Veracity of statements by Boris Johnson, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Needs better sourcing but the presence of sourcing disqualifies it from being a G10 in my reading. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Barkeep49 (talk) 17:52, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Barkeep49: Thanks for letting me know, but I strongly disagree. In fact I think there could be legal problems stating that the British Prime Minister has made many false or misleading claims. Although this is probably true, and probably true for most politicians, these are only allegations at present not proven facts. --John B123 (talk) 18:04, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- I mean at best that could be cause for revision deletion rather than complete page deletion. Barkeep49 (talk) 18:06, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Barkeep49: I still disagree but no problem. As (from the last sentence of your original post) you don't think much of my tagging I won't bother in future. Best wishes. --John B123 (talk) 18:14, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi,Mr John. You suggested improvement by adding the linkrot tag to the article I created Nabi Mammadov. As per your suggestion, I filled in all the links again. I think it's ready for reviewing. I wonder when it will be reviewed.MMAmonster10 (talk) 10:20,19 June 2021 (UTC)

2021–22 II liga draft
Hi, I saw that you moved the 2021–22 II liga (Draft:2021–22 II liga) article to the drafts section. I'd like to ask you - why? For me, it seems the article passes the notability criterias (as the professional level) and consists of basic informations about the following season. CzeCze11 (talk) 12:39, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi CzeCze11. The article was unreferenced. Whilst it may be notable, notability needs to be verified by reliable sources. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 12:49, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi John B123. Thanks for the answer. I did not create this article, but I have already supplemented it with additional sources. What is the procedure for quickly moving it to the public area (because it meets the standards)? Can I transfer it myself, or is there another "way". CzeCze11 (talk) 13:33, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi CzeCze11. It looks fine now, so there's nothing to stop it being in mainspace. Moving it yourself isn't a problem. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 13:38, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Sorry, but it is not possible for me. After moving the article, i receive the noitification: "The page could not be moved, for the following reason: The page could not be moved: a page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name, or use Requested moves to ask for the page to be moved. Do not manually move the article by copying and pasting it; the page history must be moved along with the article text.". Maybe you have permission to move the page. Hi John, I have added more citations to the article on Alex Sigal. Recreating "New IP"
Hello. Some time last year I created a stub on the "New IP" Internet protocol proposed by Huawei. You moved the article to draft space and it expired. Meanwhile there are over fifty pages linking to "New IP" because it is part of the Huawei template. I just went to recreate the article and was advised "A page with this title has previously been moved or deleted... If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the user(s) who performed the action(s) listed below." That's you... I want to make a stub linking at least to the Financial Times article on New IP[2], will this be enough to avoid the same thing from happening again? Mporter (talk) 07:46, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Mporter. I don't remember the article but the usual reason for sending an article to draft is for being unreferenced. There's no reason why you can't recreate the article, but it does need to be referenced. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:52, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
RD1 request
Thanks for identifying the need for RD1 at Ehsan Matoori. I was originally going to gently point out that you did not identify the source URL, but when I cleared out the revdel notice, I see there are two URLs listed. I'm not quite sure what happened. I was able to figure out the sources by looking at the edit summaries, and it is clear you intended to include them but something went wrong. Oddly, while I've processed thousands of such requests I've never created one myself so I'm not quite sure how to fill out the template. This one is now complete so there is nothing to be done on this one, but if you make any such reports in the future I urge you to look at the resulting template on the article page to see if it identifies the URL of the source material.--S Philbrick(Talk) 18:30, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi S Philbrick. As far as I remember this is the first time I've added multiple urls to a {{Copyvio-revdel}}. I did include 3 urls
|url1=
,|url2=
and|url3=
. Unlike other templates, it seems {{Copyvio-revdel}} doesn't support|url1=
and you have to use|url=
. Presumably without|url=
,|url2=
and|url3=
are ignored. We live and learn and I'll bear that in mind in the future. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 18:46, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Judo in Canada
Hello. You recently tagged a couple of articles that I created regarding prominent Canadian judoka (Hiroshi Nakamura (judoka) and Raymond Damblant) for having just one source. That source, however, is the second edition of Judoka, the official history and high-level records of Judo in Canada, published on behalf of Judo Canada, which means that it is not only reliable but authoritative on this subject. I've added a few other sources that simply repeat the same information, but if you see that book referenced again in the future, I hope that you'll consider that it is equivalent to official records posted to Judo Canada's website. It's not enough to support a full article, obviously, but I think that it is an adequate starting point for a stub. – CanadianJudoka (talk) 19:32, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi CanadianJudoka, although I'm not an expert on Canadian Judo, I've no reason to question your comments above. Keeping to sports, in other sports the governing body may not so reliable so there is a general principle that articles should have more than one source. Although not a view I share, other editors may argue that the governing body is a primary source and the article needs secondary sources. For future articles it might be advisable to add multiple sources to avoid any possible fuss even though those other sources just reflect what Judo Canada are saying. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 20:20, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

John B123, thanks for checking the new article. I believe that everything in the article can be verified from the sources given; what it needs is more sources (as suggested on the talk page) to build it into a better article. But perhaps that amounts to the same thing. Cheers.--Verbarson (talk) 22:08, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Verbarson. The article read as if the references only applied to the second paragraph. I've altered it now so it's clear they apply to both paragraphs. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 22:16, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
- That makes sense. Originally it was all one paragraph, which I split for 'readability' (aka making it look a bit more substantial); I didn't think about the impact on the refs.Thanks.--Verbarson (talk) 22:29, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
tagging
When an article is already labeled as a stub, tagging it as needing more is redundant. GWFrog (talk) 04:06, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- @GWFrog: Where an article has unreferenced content it is appropriate to tag it with {{refimprove}}, whether it is a stub or not isn't relevant. Being a stub doesn't exempt the article from complying with the guidelines such as WP:VERIFY. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 06:16, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

New Article
@John B123 Hello again,
I hope you remember me :) You had reviewed my airport articles last year. As you might have seen on my user page that I have created several reviewed airport articles, but I recently entered into tech articles too, by creating Comparison of OnePlus TVs. But unfortunately it has not been reviewed yet.
If you can just check it out once, it'll be great :)
Thanks YashPratap1912(CONT.) 13:53, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi YashPratap, hope you are well. Tech articles aren't really my area of expertise but it looks ok to me. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:11, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you John!
- I'm planning on expanding stub tech articles now - and finishing all requested International airport articles on Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports.

When can I remove the stub-mark on the article Interfront of the Donbass? I've got already 10 different sources. -- Derim Hunt 09:19, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Derim Hunt, stub is an indication of the size of the article not how many sources it has. I note the article has been expanded since I tagged it so I can see no reason why the tag can't be removed now. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 07:24, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Proposed deletion
John B123, I know you are super busy. I wonder if you could still stop by and share your thoughts: Gold Lake (King County, Washington) has been proposed for deletion; I felt it has merits to remain. Your input, either way, will be greatly valued. Until then, Fimbriata (talk) 15:40, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Fimbriata. When an article is proposed for WP:AfD, how well or badly an article has been written isn't relevant, it's the potential of the subject is considered. WP:PROD works in a different way and is based on the article as it is now, not how it could be. Looking at the article when the PROD was added, I can understand where the editor who added the tag was coming from. Now that you have expanded and improved the article, the concerns in the PROD have been addressed so removing the tag is appropriate. The article seems to me to meet WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG now. Italy at JSF page
Hi!
I get a notification, that you added the tag, that this page is unreferenced (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy_in_the_Jeux_sans_fronti%C3%A8res). I collected all infos from this website: http://www.jsf.hiddentigerbooks.co.uk/ and putted together this page. (I will make pages for the other nations as well). Could you tell me, how I could make it referenced? As I have no idea how add this site as a reference. I need to add this as info for the table, or under the whole wiki page?
Thanks in advance: hph01 — Preceding undated comment added 17:53, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
UI: Also some episodes are up at Youtube, but Youtube is not welcomed as source that much here...
- Hi hph01, see Help:Referencing for beginners for how to add references. You need to add references to the pages that give information not just the home page of the site. For example, 1965 would be referenced by Series Guide 1965. You can add the links to YouTube in an External links section but not as references. Regards --John B123 (talk) 18:07, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Not cool
"was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted" just wondering, do you even read before nominating things for speedy deletion? Kindly help me with this article
Hello John, sorry to disturb you but kindly help me with a review on this article David Sabo Kente. I would be grateful. Kind regards sir. Moshswacide (talk) 09:57, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Moshswacide. The article reads slightly promotional but not overly so. Does "National Assembly's deputy director of finance" mean he was elected to the National Assembly, or is this an appointment by the Assembly? If the former, he meets the requirements of WP:POLITICIAN, if the latter the article only just passes the notability requirements of WP:GNG. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:56, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello [[John B123]. Thank you for the correction, I'm still learning and I'm grateful for putting me through. He wasn't elected, it was an appointed but he did contested for a state governorship elections twice, does that count as being a politician? So that I can correct it? Moshswacide (talk) 21:44, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

- : Hi Moshswacide, politicians elected to state or national positions are considered inherently notable, but candidates that were defeated are not. That's not to say they cannot be notable, just that their notability needs to be shown in other ways. Politicians that have not held an elected national office are still politicians so there's no need to change the text. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 22:08, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Secretlab
My first instinct was to accept your speedy deletion nomination of Secretlab. However, on reflection I decided against it. There are widely differing views on just how similar a re-created article and its deleted predecessor have to be justify deletion, and while I personally prefer a fairly liberal interpretation, there isn't consensus for that view, and I therefore don't think it's right to impose that view, especially when the nomination has been challenged. You are, of course, free to take it to a second AFD if you wish to. JBW (talk) 13:34, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi JBW, thanks for letting me know. Sometimes articles that have been recreated after being deleted are obviously G4, other times they are obviously not. In this case the previous article was deleted for being promotional and the new article came across as promotional too. As I cannot see the old version, I thought the best course of action was to pass it on to someone who can see the old version and is therefore in a better position to judge. I note from your comments that it was marginal, but have no problem with you declining it. I do have a problem with the article creator's attitude towards me after the article was nominated for speedy deletion. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:32, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I too have a problem with the article creator's attitude to you, to put it politely. Nominating articles re-created after deletion at AfD is often a difficult area, as the editor considering doing it almost always can't see whether the new version is sufficiently similar to the old one. The answer to that problem is obviously exactly what you have said: if in doubt nominate it and let someone who can see it decide. As for the current article being promotional, you can judge whether you think that's a big enough problem to do anything about it. JBW (talk) 07:43, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi John. I am submitting this page for your review. I feel like its long overdue seeing as how many other martial arts have their own page. This is a list page. -Imcdc (talk) 16:49, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
